About the Trainer

Russ Dillon became a Certified Military Working Dog Handler in December, 1997 at Lackland, AFB. At this 11 week school he learned about dog behavior as well as modification techniques.

Upon graduation he returned to Nellis, AFB and teamed up with an explosive detector dog. Once certified he deployed to various parts of the world supporting the secret service as well as other agencies. The last 6 months in the Air Force he was assigned as the trainer at Nellis. He set up training scenarios for Military Working dog teams as well as the Las Vegas Police Department's K9 units.

Once he came back to Omaha he started working with family dogs in the area as well as Doggie Day Cares. Russ has helped Doggie Day Cares in assessing dogs behavior as well as helping the staff to understand pack behavior. He taught puppy classes and really helped the families start off on the right foot with their new dogs.

Russ' unique approach included a system that he has developed through years of research and personal experience. Russ has a gift for connecting with dogs. They respond to him almost immediately. Russ will teach you what you need to know to do the same for your dog. Russ will also make sure you have a chance to apply what you are learning throughout the process.

Russ has developed several programs, each designed to achieve specific results. His approach is not one size fits all. Some of Russ's programs include:

  • Diabetic Alert Dogs
  • Oxygen Assistance Dogs
  • Balance Assistance Dogs
  • Seizure Alert Dogs
  • Companion Dogs
  • PTSD Dogs
  • Psychiatric Disorder Dogs

Russ uses rescued dogs from the Humane Society and other Rescue groups to train as service dogs.
